  6. ‘M)ain Menu’
  7.     Return to main menu.  (FBBS will remember which board you were on).
  8.  
  9. ‘B)oard Change’
  10.     When you select board change, you'll get a "paged" listing of the available
  11. message boards, and you'll be asked to make a selection.  If you choose a board
  12. that's out of range, or one you don't have access to, then you'll get an error
  13. message.

  15. ‘S)can Headers’
  16.     It'll show you the headers of the messages posted in the current  board,
  17. starting by the LAST MESSAGE YOU READ.

  19. ‘F)ind Token’
  20.     Similar to Scan Headers, but you can specify what to look for.  This
  21. function will search for the token you entered in the Subject, sender, and
  22. recipient fields.

  24. ‘D)elete Message’
  25.     If you want to delete a message you sent or was sent to you, then you
  26. can delete it if you no longer wish the message to be on the board.

  28. “FBBS will remember the last message you read in each message board.”

  30. “Read Commands”

  32. ‘a number’
  33.     FBBS will try to find the specified message for you.  If it doesn't
  34. find it, or if the message is private and not to or from you, then it'll
  35. display a "Message Not Found" message.
  36.  
  37. ‘0’ (Zero)
  38.     This will "rewind" the message board, going to the first available
  39. message, without displaying it.  This is useful if you want to go back and
  40. read or scan old messages.

  42. ‘N)ext’
  43.     Read next message.  This will make the "Next" command the Default Read
  44. command.  When you hit <ENTER> it will be the equivalent as hitting the Next
  45. key.  Due to the way FBBS's memory is set up, selecting "next" is equivalent
  46. to selecting "read new" in many other bulletin board systems.

  48. ‘P)revious’
  49.     Read previous message.  This will make the "Previous" command the 
  50. Default Read command.  When you hit <ENTER> it will be the equivalent as 
  51. hitting the "Previous" key.

  54. “Threaded Retrieval”
  55.     Messages in FBBS are threaded.  That is, you can read the original
  56. postings and the replies to the current message just by typing the appropriate
  57. command.  You must have already read at least one message for this feature
  58. to work, or a "no active message" will be displayed to you.

  60. ‘+)Read Reply’
  61.     Read next reply to current message.  This will make the "Read Reply" 
  62. command the Default Read command.  When you hit <ENTER> it will be the 
  63. equivalent as hitting the "Read Reply" key.

  65. ‘-)Read Original’
  66.     Read previous reply to current message.  This will make the "Read Original" 
  67. command the Default Read command.  When you hit <ENTER> it will be the 
  68. equivalent as hitting the "Read Original" key.

  70. ‘C)ountinuous Read’
  71. Show all the messages in the board, starting by the Current message.  This
  72. display is non-paged.   To stop or pause it, you must use FBBS's standard
  73. stop and pause keys, which are "S" and "P" respectively.

  75. “Writing Messages”

  78. Some of these options may be turned off in certain message boards.

  80. ‘W)rite Message’
  81.     Writes a message.  You'll be prompted for who the message is to, and
  82. for a subject.  FBBS won't let you type empty strings, so if you change your
  83. mind about writing a message, just type a dummy name and subject and ABORT
  84. the message within the editor.  Public/private settings will depend on what
  85. the current message board allows.  If it allows for both public and private
  86. you will be prompted.

  88. ‘R)eply to Message’
  89.     Adds a message to the reply chain.
  90.  
  91. ‘About FBBS's Line Editor’
  92.     The maximum length of a message was arbitrarily set to 100 lines.
  93. This may or may not change in the future, or it could even be set proportio-
  94. nally to the amount of messages you leave.  The words you type will automati-
  95. cally wrap around to the next line when you reach the 72nd column.  When
  96. you think you're done entering your message, hit Enter (Return) in a blank
  97. line.

  99. The editing options are:
  100.  
  101. *   "S)ave": Saves your message.  Duhhh.
  102. *   "A)bort": Hmm, guess what it does?
  103. *   "C)ontinue": back to the editor.
  104. *   "E)dit Line: lets you change a string in a line by a new string.
  105. *   "L)ist": lists your message so far.
  106. *   "P)rivate Toggle":  changes from private to public or vice versa.
  107. *   "I)nsert Line":  Inserts a line before any line you want.
  108. *   "R)emove line": Removes a line from your message.
  109. *   "O)riginal Message Quote: Adds text from the message you're replying
  110.        to.  This works on a line-by-line basis.  It will display a line
  111.        and ask you if you want to include it.  If you answer YES, it will
  112.        include it and get the next line.  If you answer no, it will just
  113.        get to the next line.  If you answer quit, it will do nothing, and
  114.        display the editor options again.

  116. There are other nifty things to it too.  You can erase the last word you typed
  117. by hitting cntrl-W, and the last line by hitting cntrl-U.

  119. ‘?) Help’
  120.     Displays this file when not in Expert mode.  In expert mode this command
  121. will show you the Messages Menu.
  122.  
  123. ‘G)oo'bye’
  124.     Starts the Logout sequence.
